BMA gives $22K to United Way in 2020
In 2020, BarberMcMurry gave $22,516 to the United Way of Greater Knoxville through an employee fundraising campaign.
“BMA has been blessed to be a part of this community for over one hundred years — and in 2020, we were honored to be able to give back to the United Way, which makes such a huge impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors,” said Chuck V. Griffin, President & CEO of BarberMcMurry.
“Last year was a difficult and challenging one for many, and I’m incredibly proud of our employees, who gave so selflessly to support others.”
BarberMcMurry has been a longtime supporter of the United Way, with one hundred percent participation in employee fundraising campaigns for decades. Since 1998, the firm has donated more than $355,000 to the UWGK.
In 2020, BarberMcMurry designated its gift to support Big Brothers and Big Sisters of East Tennessee, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley, Centro Hispano, Girls Inc. of the Tennessee Valley, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Emerald Youth Foundation, Helen Ross McNabb Center, Metro Drug Coalition, Second Harvest Foodbank of East Tennessee, Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding, Susannah’s House, The Muse, tnAchieves, Wesley House, and the Williams Creek Youth Foundation.
Since 1922, the United Way of Greater Knoxville has raised awareness and money, and mobilized volunteers, to meet community needs in the greater Knoxville area. The UWGK invests donations in programs focused on health, education and financial stability.
