At Maryville College, we led an extensive renovation of the historic Alumni Gym, originally built in 1924. The building was taken down to the studs before being upgraded, expanded and brought up to code — although we took care to keep important historical features like the original roof rafters.
Additionally, BarberMcMurry designed a new, single-story baseball locker facility for the college’s student athletes and coaches in the baseball program. The space includes a player lounge and meeting space as well as support spaces, including a viewing room, laundry room, mud room, bathrooms and storage.
These projects were the first phase of a larger update to athletics and student wellness spaces on campus.
