Chuck Griffin appointed to Tennessee Board for Licensing Health Care Facilities
Chuck Griffin has been appointed by Governor Haslam to the State of Tennessee Board for Licensing Health Care Facilities. He will serve as an architect member for a term ending April 30, 2020.
The Tennessee Department of Health Board is responsible for protecting the health of the citizens of the State of Tennessee through the oversight of the regulation of healthcare providers in Tennessee, enforcement of State laws and regulations, and assurance of quality care and standards of practice.
The Office of Health Care Facilities ensures the excellence of care in hospitals, ambulatory surgical treatment centers, nursing homes, and other types of health care facilities in Tennessee. The Office licenses and/or certifies 21 types of health care facilities, including laboratories.
The Office directs state licensure and/or federal certification surveys annually for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and is accountable for the investigation of all facility complaints received, and the issuance and collection of state and /or federal civil monetary penalties. Facility surveys and complaint investigations are coordinated and conducted from three regional offices located in Jackson, Nashville, and Knoxville.
