On the third floor of the University Orthopaedic Institute, BarberMcMurry partnered with the University of Tennessee Medical Center and the University of Tennessee's Precision Health and Environment cluster to create a dedicated, forward-thinking research space. The new Center for Precision Health is designed to support PHE's mission of linking environmental exposure to critical health outcomes, including cardiac, respiratory, and cancer-related conditions, through advanced machine learning and data analysis.
BarberMcMurry crafted a dynamic, collaborative environment that reflects the PHE’s innovative spirit and commitment to health advancement. Central to the design is the use of extensive glazing, allowing natural light to flood into workspaces and data visualization areas, creating an inspiring atmosphere for students and researchers alike.
Throughout the space, vibrant colors and dynamic patterns invigorate the interiors, while thoughtfully designed workstations support both focused research and collaborative learning. Key elements, like the integration of glass walls, not only enhance visibility across the space but also showcase the active research happening within. This combination of transparency and light supports the PHE’s goal of fostering an environment that motivates, excites, and reflects the cutting-edge nature of precision health research.
