At Northeast State Community College, BarberMcMurry partnered with Fisher & Associates to provide fixtures, furnishings and equipment for the college’s new Technical Education Complex.
BarberMcMurry met with Fisher and Northeast State faculty and staff to ensure furniture selections met the school’s functional needs and fit with the building’s aesthetic. Because the building’s design includes extensive interior and exterior glass walls, the furniture’s palette is highly controlled: neutral with accent colors of blue and green, Northeast State’s campus colors. In administrative and faculty offices, and in reception areas, furniture utilizes wood-grain laminate to warm up the spaces.
The furnished spaces include a number of specialty labs: lighting and sound, electrical fundamentals, magnetics and motors, PLC/mechatronics, metallurgy, HVAC/electro-mechanical, HVAC simulation, CNC, entertainment technology, sound editing, accounting, cyber security, PC maintenance, and network. Other furnished spaces are private offices, reception and lounge spaces, workshops, computer and business labs, break rooms, and conference rooms.
