At Cherokee Country Club, BarberMcMurry designed a new pool house and deck, and dining and recreation facility. The architecture is inspired by the existing clubhouse — with stucco siding, slate roof, and slate tile terrace. The turret at the dining room entrance echoes that of the existing clubhouse.
To create a resort-like setting, the pool house opens to the pool and outdoor dining area. The resort pool is separated from the lap pool by a change in grade and extensive landscaping. The resort pool includes Baja shelves for lounging, a shaded adult area with a built-in bench, and a shaded kids play area with a zero-entry pool and extra water features. The lap pool includes six lanes, a diving well, and a climbing wall.
The large pool deck includes ample space for events and an adults-only area with a firepit. The outdoor dining terrace and bar has a spectacular view of the Tennessee River.
The pool house also includes an indoor dining facility as well as a game room that houses pool, air hockey, foosball, bumper pool, darts, shuffleboard, table tennis, and video games.
