BarberMcMurry worked with UT Medical Center and Johnson Development to design a prototype medical facility that could be easily modified and replicated in satellite locations in a developer-led process. This facility projects the persona of UT Medical Center by drawing inspiration from other designs, including the BarberMcMurry-designed Heart Hospital and Cancer Center. These deliberate design choices reinforce UT Medical Center’s brand as a modern, yet warm, healthcare provider.

The design creates an iconic and welcoming entry, lobby and waiting area. Other spaces include outpatient imaging, physical therapy, chemotherapy, lab services, primary care offices and patient rooms, and even time-share office suites. The chemotherapy suite contains a 10-bay infusion area and exam spaces. The physician office suites are organized to share a common waiting area, while allowing individual entries into each suite, maximizing the available space while still allowing for privacy and individuality.
