Challenge: Given a finite budget, design an office building dedicated to scientific research; maximizing the number of offices and work spaces into a very compact site.

Solution: We began the design by orienting our proposed office building along the geometries set by the adjacent campus research facilities.  The program provided to us asked that the facility contain at least 80 workspaces, a combination of open and hard wall offices, conference spaces, and work rooms – all within a specific budget amount.  We were able to design a facility that not only met the minimum required program spaces, but a design which also provided additional critically needed work spaces above and beyond the required amount; thus bringing additional value to the client without additional cost.  Our design also incorporates the latest in energy efficiency and sustainable design.  The exterior of the building reflects the standard set by the campus and projects a clean and modern look appropriate to the nature of research conducted within.

LEED: Gold (projected)
