Community Collaboration
BarberMcMurry architects is committed to community involvement and utilizing our talents as architects to make our world a better place. We have served as volunteers and board members for the East Tennessee Community Design Center for almost 20 years. Through the East Tennessee Community Design Center, we provided free design services for the Senior Citizens Home Assistance Services new facility on Broadway and are currently providing services for the YWCA downtown. We are also committed to the 1% Initiative, a program to encourage architects to donate on an annual basis 1% of their time to pro bono services for non-profit organizations in need of architectural services. Some of our recent pro bono work has been for Safety City, Farragut Baseball, Farragut High School, Knox County Parks and Recreation, First Tee, and the Sevier County Library.
